Is this app made by the government?

No. This app is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Australian Government or the Department of Home Affairs. The Department has stated publicly that it does not endorse or recommend any external course or app, paid or free, that claims to help you prepare for the citizenship test — that applies to this app too. Content is based on the publicly available text of Australian Citizenship: Our Common Bond (testable section), used under its Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, with our own original practice questions — nothing here is copied from the Department's practice test.

What does the real test look like?

As last checked on the Department's own pages (30 September 2026):

A note on answer options: the Department's own online practice test currently shows 3 answer options on every question, and the Department says that practice test is designed to look and feel like the real test — but none of the Department's pages states how many options the real test uses. Because of that, this app supports both a 3-option and a 4-option mode, and content is always written with one correct answer and three distractors so either mode works fairly.

If you don't pass, the Department's test page says (checked 30 September 2026): it does not affect your visa and you can keep living in Australia; the Department books another appointment for you at no extra cost; and if you do not pass after three appointments, your application may be refused. Where can I check the current rules myself?

Settings > About > "Check the current rules" links to the Department of Home Affairs pages:

The Department recommends preparing with the resources on its own website. This app is meant to be used alongside them, not instead of them.

What languages are supported?

Questions and answer options are always in English, because the real test is English only. The explanations, flashcard backs, and glossary are available in English (source), Turkish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Nepali, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. Change your explanation language any time in Settings.

Does it work offline?

Yes — completely. Everything (questions, notes, flashcards, explanations in 9 languages, and the dated facts such as the current fee) is inside the app, and the app never goes online by itself. When a rule, fee or office holder changes, it is updated in an app update from the App Store; each question shows the date it was last verified.

How does the pass-probability estimate work?

After you've taken at least one full mock test, the app shows an estimate of how likely you are to pass if you sat the real test today, based only on your own practice history: your recent mock scores, how well you know each topic, how much of the question bank you've covered, your pace, and — separately weighted, because getting even one wrong fails the real test — your accuracy on Australian values questions specifically. It's a study aid, not a prediction from the Department, and the app always says so next to the number, along with how much real-world data it's been checked against so far.

I'm getting a new phone — how do I keep my progress?

There's no account to sign into. If you back up your old device to iCloud (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup) before switching, and restore your new device from that backup, this app's data — including your study progress — comes back with it automatically. There is currently no way to sync progress between two devices used at the same time.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple, not by the developer. Request one at: https://reportaproblem.apple.com

I think a question or answer is wrong — how do I report it?

Every question screen has a "Report a problem" option. It opens your e-mail app with the question ID and your content version already filled in — tell us what looks wrong and press Send. The app itself sends nothing. You can also e-mail destek@kacnet.app directly.
